KN95 is a Chinese standard mask

2020-05-14

It is derived from China National Standard GB 2626-2006 "Respiratory protective equipment self-priming filter anti-particulate respirator"

(1) Standard source

This standard is a compulsory national standard in China, proposed by the State Administration of Work Safety and under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Personal Protective Equipment (SAC / TC 112).
(2) Technical content
In terms of scope of application, this standard is applicable to ordinary self-priming, filter-type respiratory protective equipment that protects against various types of particulate matter, such as masks, and other special environments (such as oxygen-deficient environments, underwater operations, etc.) are not applicable.
From the definition of particulate matter, this standard defines various forms of particulate matter, including dust, smoke, mist and microorganisms, but does not define the size of particulate matter.
From the point of view of the filter element level, it can be divided into KN type for filtering non-oily particulates and KP type for filtering oily and non-oily particulates, and with this as a mark, it is in accordance with the N, R / P specified in the CFR 42-84-1995 interpretation guide similar.
(3) Precautions
It is worth noting that GB 2626-2006 "Respiratory protective equipment self-priming filter anti-particulate respirator" is about to be scrapped, replacing its new standard GB 2626-2019 "Respiratory protective self-priming filter anti-particulate respirator" The General Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued the "People's Republic of China National Standards Announcement No. 17 of 2019" to the whole society on December 31, 2019, and will officially implement it on July 1, 2020. Be in charge.
At present, the text of the new standard has been published and is freely disclosed to the whole society as a mandatory standard. The new standard supplements seven terms such as “aerodynamic particle size” and modifies some technical requirements and detection methods, but does not modify the classification and marking and filtration efficiency listed in this article.
